Ecovation in a joint collaboration with the Logan City Council and a number of sister city councils have developed Queenslands first Solar Neighbourhoods Program.

The program aims to deliver significant energy savings to consumers by enabling them to participate in a bulk installation program co-ordinated by Ecovation that delivers up to $5,000 in discounts over and above generous Government Rebates that can be applied to the  purchase and installation of  Solar Hot Water Systems or Heat Pumps as well as a Grid Connected Solar Power System.

To date more than 286 homeowners have committed to the program with over 150 installations completed since the program pilot commenced in May 2009. 

The program has received massive public endorsement and was a finalist in the prestigeous Keep Australia Beautiful - Energy Warriors Awards.

How does it work?

The idea is to join 6 homeowners who live within a 5 klm radius (available only throughout South East QLD and Northern NSW) of one another to form an approved Solar Neighbourhood Cluster who all want to upgrade their electric hot water system to a more energy efficient Solar Hot Water System or Heat Pump with an added option to introduce a Grid Connected Solar System to further offset electricity costs.

Once a cluster is formed participants will receive Solar Hot Water Discount up to $600 off our recommended prices and a minimim $3000 for adding a minimum 1.5kW Solar Grid Connected System.

Participants have a choice and can select from 3 different types of solar hot water technology supplied by several of the worlds leading manufacturers.

What is the cost?

Packages start from $25 per week interest free over 4 years using the Australian Governments Green Loans Program - (Starter Pack 1.5kW Grid Connected Solar System)

Combo Package start from $35 per week over 4 years interest free: Combine a Solar Hot Water System with a 1.5 kW Grid Connected Solar System to save up to 60% off the standard electricity bill.

What type of Solar Panels are included?

Ecovation manufacturer their own Solar Grid Connect modules which meet all Australian Standards backed by 25 Yr warranties and qualify for the Australian Governments Solar Credits Rebate.

Particpants can also select from a Germanys leading solar technology manufacturer.

How will I know when a group of 6 have formed?

It usually takes between 8-10 weeks to form a solar neighbourhood cluster.

Ecovation will co-ordinate this for each area and no further work is required by each participant.

Homeowners who want to accelerate their installation may promote the program at their leisure. Once the minimum quota for each area has been reached a project manager from Ecovation will contact you to confirm your installation date.
